Vacation... Noah

Ashly and I went to Orlando Florida this past week. It was all vacation should be. Slept a lot, swimming pool, tv, movies, putt-putt, universal studios, eating... it was good. We ate at chili's 4 times... It's not even our favorite restaurant, but it was the only one at our exit, and we were not usually in the mood to drive much further than that... We listened to a lot of music. I've been a fan of arcade fire for a while, but they became my new obsession this week. You should give them a chance if you haven't already... Start with their first full length, "Funeral".

I'm so glad to be back in Murfreesboro, i love this town, but i'm sad to get back to regular schedule... I don't hate to work, but i just feel like there is so much more i could be doing with my time that would be a lot more beneficial...
Making money can be such a waste of time, yet so unavoidably necessary.

I'm now nineteen and in California...Lisa

I've been wanting to blog about some things for the past week-but I figured I should stay with the "Wednesday Updates," but I missed it by an hour. It's already Thursday here. The past couple weeks have been really busy. My birthday was on the 13th and that weekend Ashly and Noah took me and my friend Courtney to Six Flags. We rode every big roller coaster and hated Batman-made us all a little sick- and Ninja- too jerky. The most surprising part about that trip was when we rode the Superman. We got on the ride and they flipped us over on our stomachs, we started going up the first hill.... and we stopped. Something was wrong with the ride and we got stuck up there for about ten minutes. All of our faces were red, but we each had totally different takes on the situation. I just couldn't stop laughing. I found a lot of humor in it. Ashly was really nervous-I think Noah was too. Courtney said she couldn't decide whether to laugh or cry. Anyways, they fixed the ride and it turned out to be really fun! Afterwards, we all felt a little famous because once we got off everyone was asking us, "Are you guys the ones who got stuck on the ride?" and we said we were and gave them a quick few word opinion on the situation.

Right now I am in California visiting my family for my grandparent's 50th anniversary. I've been here since Monday, but Monday and Tuesday were mainly relaxing days. Today we went to San Fransisco and drove these miniature go cart/fourwheeler like cars. It was really fun to drive all over the city in those! I got really sun burnt tho. The weather here is nuts. I was in the car for like two hours driving and was freezing the whole time because of the cold wind- but I am so sun burnt because of it. Strange huh? It's just been really enjoyable to be here. I am actually originally from California-so it's nice to come back. I have alot of family on my dad's side so I've been doing alot of visiting with my cousins, aunts, uncles, great aunts, etc.

I've really enjoyed seeing my grandparents-my dad's parents. They are always so loving to each other and it is really comforting to see that even after fifty years of marriage-good and bad times-they are still so committed to loving each other. I feel blessed to be their grandchild.

Hope everyone is doing well!
Be blessed- Lisa

Sandy's House... Noah

Last friday me, Ashly, Lisa, her brother Levi, and Rachel all went to Sandy's house. Sandy is a co-worker of Stan, Lisa's dad at Gray Line in Nashville. She is also an established song writer and singer, and she just knows a lot about a lot. Anywho, she invited us over for some burgers, brats, baked beans, potato salad, eggs, 3 different kinds of pie, and a killer game of Balderdash. We started off visiting with Sandy in her living room while Gene, her husband, grilled the burgers for us. Levi tried his hardest to brush Mrs. Kitty(this is their cat) with her special brush but failed. Next we ate. The food was delicious... Thanks Gene.
Then we all played a round of Balderdash, except Gene who retired to his sports room to watch the Mariners play. Balderdash was both silly and competitive. We took a break after one round because it was pie time! It just so happened to be Lisa's birthday-eve, so as Sandy prepared all the pie, we broke into spontaneous beats using kitchen utensils and soda cans, and rhymes with a lyrical focus of pie and Lisa. We ate sooo much pie with bananas and whipped cream... After pie it was time for Balderdash, Round 2... We were all a little less enthused this round because of all the food in our bellies... Ashly had the lead the whole game and ended up winning. Lisa and I tied for 2nd. Sandy came in 3rd, Levi a strong 4th, and Rachel last(but for her credit, she did leave a little early).
It was a good night... Thanks to Sandy and Gene for being so hospitable and fun!

God Bless,
Noah

Blue Bird Performance... Lisa

Monday, July 7th, We visited the Blue Bird Cafe again. This time, ready to perform. We got there about 5:30 and there was a really long line outside the Blue Bird and no places to park. So we parked in a parking lot across the street, finally walked across and I put our name in the basket. We had a hard time finding seats, but luckily there was a table on the side of the stage that had four extra seats not taken. We sat down and met the couple who were already sitting there. He was a folk singer/story teller. When they read the order of the performances, we ended up being number ten. It was nice not to be too early in the night, but not have to wait an hour. We ended up singing Boots and Overcoat. I think everyone really liked it. That was nice.
The Blue Bird is just a really fun entertaining place on Monday nights. You never know what you're going to see. We heard all kinds of stuff- a song to the "other woman," cat jokes, daddy songs, tears in the audience, intense song on the keys, couple that sang abandonmemnt song, and Rachel's favorite, dreamcatcher on a man's back. Obviously there are stories to go along with all these... but I'll hold them in.
We didn't end up staying too much longer after we sang. Afterwards, we went out to eat with some of Noah&Ashly's friends at Mellow Mushroom. Then headed home.
We aren't sure when we will go back to the BlueBird but we definitely want to perform there again. Any requests for next time?
Anyways, thats our second BlueBird visit.
Be Blessed-Lisa

Blue Bird Cafe... Noah

So me, Ashly, and Lisa went to the blue bird cafe last Monday. If you're not sure what that is, you should visit here. It was very entertaining and interesting to hear different song writters play just one of their own songs. Some were great and some were terrible, but i respected each one for playing in front of so many other song writers... Well except maybe the guy who introduced his song as being "sexy". I wont go into the lyrical content, but it was pretty unnecessary and unimaginative. Anywho, Lisa talked to the lady who was running things and it looks like we will be playing there this coming Monday, July 7th. We haven't picked out our song(s) yet, it's kinda tough because so many of our songs are short, and we want to play longer that a minute and a half... We will be playing as a three piece; me, Lisa, and Rachel. Anyone who wants to come watch is welcome to come, but i encourage you to come and enjoy the whole experience... If you are there just to see us, you will only see one, maybe two songs...

God Bless,
Noah
